[Flash Fiction] No Trespassing

“I don’t see a ‘No Trespassing’ sign, ergo, we can trespass, right?”

The boys peeked through the castle doors and found themselves staring at arched windows and wooden floors that curiously still held a shine to them.

“What is that?” One of the boys pointed to an open book on the floor that looked like a geometry textbook gone wrong. He touched the mismatched shapes, and was yanked inside. “Wh-Help!”

The other boy rushed to grab on, but only managed to seal his own fate as the two of them vanished into the pages and the castle was still again.

        1. Flash Fiction is basically a very very short story (word limits usually range from 100-200). There are different bloggers who host different flash fiction events, usually with a photo prompt. I participate in a good handful of different flash fiction events so feel free to check out my stories for links to the events 🙂

The challenge is in crafting a coherent story with a beginning, middle, and end in so few words!

    1. Greed? Or perhaps the book and castle felt it was in danger? Perhaps it has learned from experience to protect itself against naughty, trouble-making boys? 😉 Thanks for the read and comment, Mike!

    1. Perhaps…books hold so many secrets after all 😉

Thanks Maria! These prompts are always fun to write because you just never know what’s gonna be the final product 🙂
