[Doctor Who Fanfic] The Last Clue

He found the copper-tinted astronaut helmet half hidden behind a dusty bookshelf.

The first clue should have been how pristine the helmet looked, reflecting his face with a metallic glint.

The second clue should have been the velvet lining, instead of the authentic ventilation pads, that made wearing the helmet feel like resting his head on a pillow.

The final clue was the shadow, creeping up the neck of the helmet and clawing at his face. His body thudded to the floor. The helmet rolled off, revealing a cleanly eaten skull, and resumed its place propped up behind the bookshelf.

I saw the photo prompt and thought ‘astronaut helmet’ instead of ‘diving helmet’ (which is what I’m pretty sure is in the photo). Then, I immediately thought of one of my favorite Doctor Who episodes. Result: this story loosely inspired by a Doctor Who monster. Bonus points to any Whovians who can guess the monster/episode!

      1. Right? I’ve never seen Dr Who so please keep me informed. I’ll try to alert you about any “Twilight Zone” risks. For example: Never ever wash a spider down the drain or a million more will appear. File that away, it’s terrified me for 40 years. And now random helmets are on the list.
