The Witch’s Broken Heart: A 13 Word Microstory

“What’s lost in pain

Is now regained.”

“Cause of death?”

“His heart’s…missing.”

Written for Grammar Ghoul’s Shapeshifting 13 Challenge, with the prompt of “spell”.  I hope it was clear enough that the first two lines are a spell being chanted.

  1. You have certainly captured the essence of a tortured soul here Jade. Well the witch has a broken heart she can’t heal even with all her spells….love the concept of a micro story and you did this one really nicely.

      1. anything to do with witches and magic and spells, count me in, i have seen some pretty amazing and unexplained things living in the kampung, growing up with lots of taboos and legends has fueled my imagination and i love a good story around magic and witches. well done Jade, really good capture with such few words.

    1. You should join again when you get the chance, Maria! I haven’t done Grammar Ghoul prompts in a while either (there’s just so many prompts and so little time!) but I saw this one and inspiration struck lol
      Thank you, dear ^_^
