[Poetry] Where We Will Always Be

Her lips were as soft as the silky petals
Of all the roses in the meadow,
And her body swayed as graceful as
The flurries of the winter snow.

When I left her that day, my tears
Watered the meadow green.
All the days can pass, but this king
Will not find another queen.

Inspired by The Urban Spaceman’s poem “A Simple Crown“. A little romance makes the world (or in my intergalactic friend’s case, the universe) go round.

  1. The fact that you were able to write a beautiful poem in response to an already beautifully written poem is commendable..top it off with another fact that even in reality we all mourn and grieve over the loss of a loved one.

  2. Ahhh, lovely poem! And an excellent ‘reply’ to the poor maiden queen from A Simple Crown. I have a fondness for songs (eg, Scarborough Fair) and poems, I guess, which can be performed as a duet, or which offer two sides to a subject. Thanks for the shout-out and for telling the story from the other side! πŸ™‚

    1. Ahh me too! I also love seeing both sides. When I read “A Simple Crown” the first thing that popped into my head was the king and where he was and what he was thinking. I was hoping you would like my little interpretation of it πŸ™‚ We work well together I think, TUS!
