[Poetry] Storm Clouds

Rain—pitter patter—
On my window soothes my soul,
Thunder—boom ba boom—
Returning what the world stole,
In the storm clouds of his eyes.

Rewrote an old poem for a prompt I was tagged with on Instagram: to write about storms in 5 lines.

I chose to write a tanka, a syllabic 5-line Japanese form similar to the haiku, because that’s one of my favorite poetry forms.

Here’s to a happy Monday! (or at least a Monday that doesn’t suck)
