She asked for a star, not the biggest or the brightest,
But a runt of a star that might be overlooked.
He tugged at the strings that rose up to the sky,
And at the end of one was a little star, hooked.
It flickered hesitantly, but she cupped it tightly,
And whispered, “you shine brightly enough for me.”
