[Writer’s Quote Wednesday] How The Grinch Stole Christmas

…And the Grinch, with his grinch-feet ice-cold in the snow,
Stood puzzling and puzzling: “How could it be so?”
“It came without ribbons! It came without tags!”
“It came without packages, boxes or bags!”
And he puzzled three hours, till his puzzler was sore.
Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before!
“Maybe Christmas,” he thought, “doesn’t come from a store.”
“Maybe Christmas…perhaps…means a little bit more!”…

— Dr. Seuss, Excerpt —

I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas yesterday and that the celebration of love and family has continued for you all today. For our last Writer’s Quote Wednesday of the year, I’m sharing an excerpt from a classic Christmas story. I grew up on Dr. Seuss and his tale of how the Grinch stole Christmas remains a story I revisit every year. I hope you enjoy this excerpt and remember that perhaps, Christmas doesn’t come from a store. Perhaps Christmas means a little bit more.

  1. love your last two lines that rhyme. It does mean more than just the presents and the lights and in all the rush to be merry I know deep down inside everyone is touched by a certain magic. I hope you had a little magic happen to you too my dear Jade.
