[Poetry] New Year Musings

Laughter rings in one corner
Of card games and revelry,
In another corner, gossip
Is exchanged with cups of tea.

Golden mandarins are piled
Next to plates of unfinished food,
And incense slowly burns,
Trailing serenity through the room.

Yet, I cannot help but wonder
As a new year settles on me,
Will this be the year I discover
Who I am meant to be?

Happy Lunar New Year, everyone! I was inspired on Instagram to write a poem for the lunar new year, and in the spirit of the year, I will be taking a week off from this blog to celebrate and eat and be present in the Real World for a bit, ha.Β

I hope you and your loved ones have a very happy and prosperous Year of the Pig!
