Monday Morning Melts Is Saying Goodbye

A message from Rosema & myself…

Jade: Hello fellow bloggers, struggling humans, and friends! First off, a happy new year to you all!

Rosema: Some of you may have started 2017 ready for our next Monday Morning Melts Prompt, and noticed that there were none.

Jade: Rosema & I came to the difficult conclusion over the holidays that we will not be continuing our Monday Morning Melts event. The reason for that is because we both are having trouble juggling our respective Real Life Responsibilities *shakes fists in vain*. Continue reading “Monday Morning Melts Is Saying Goodbye”

Monday Morning Melts #7

Rosema: After being MIA for the past week, I am back with dear Jade for Monday Morning Melts! 🙂 After the Christmas festivities, let me treat you with yet again another sweet sweet song. 🙂

I have written a fiction titled “Quite Like You” based on this song. When you read its lyrics, and when you hear it playing and being sang, you cannot help but hope that someone will sing this song for you someday. ❤

So much with dreamy words, here it is, friends!

PROMPT: The Script – Never Seen Anything “Quite Like You”

When it’s right it’s more than right
Cause you feel it more than feel
I could take this moment now
Right into the grave with me Continue reading “Monday Morning Melts #7”

Monday Morning Melts #6

Jade: Do you feel it? The beautiful lights, the easy smiles, and the hint of magic in the air that always makes the holiday season one to remember.

Instead of choosing from one of the classic Christmas songs, I’m offering lyrics this week from a song that’s a little quirkier. To everyone still scrambling for that perfect Christmas gift, I hope this song is a reminder that the perfect Christmas gift is something money can never buy.

Happy Holidays to all of you, my dear friends! I wish you all a season of contagious laughter, unconditional love, and magic to last a lifetime.

PROMPT: Humbug – Owl City

I’m ready to wrap that perfect Christmas gift
But I haven’t found it yet
‘Cause I don’t have a clue what to get you
So I’ll give you my heart, I hope it’ll do

[Poetry] What We Could Be

He could be the reason I learn to love mornings,
The way the sun plays with the shadows,
The way he smiles when I open my eyes.

I could be the reason he stays up all night,
The way the moon lights up our dance floor,
The way we laugh until sunrise.

We could be each other’s first,
First love that endures past tomorrow.
We could be the happy ending,
But now we’ll never know.

Monday Morning Melts #5

Some of you may have noticed that Monday Morning Melts took an impromptu break last week. Rosema is back this week, however, with lyrics that we hope will melt your heart like no other.

Rosema: Most of the time, love is expressed and felt through physical intimacy. Touch. Kisses. Hugs. But how about loving someone from afar? How about loving someone you haven’t seen yet? How about falling for someone’s soul residing in a body thousand miles away from you? Will it be a gamble worth committing? Will it feel like a heart’s solitary suicide?

This week, let’s delve the idea of long distance love. (Which is now for me, the purest love of all). ❤

PROMPT: “One Sweet Love” – Sara Bareilles (lyrics)

The earth that is the space between,
I’d banish it from under me to get to you.
Your unexpected love provides my solitary suicide
oh I wish I knew

[Flash Fiction] Fame, Fortune, and Empty Hearts

“But why me?” The words hovered over them, each letter holding its breath for his response.

He sat across from her at her kitchen counter, dressed incognito as always. His black sweatshirt covered his tattoos and the hood covered his platinum blond hair. Where did he begin to find his own words to answer her? Continue reading “[Flash Fiction] Fame, Fortune, and Empty Hearts”

Monday Morning Melts #4

Jade: Nobody melts my love-loving heart quite like the Backstreet Boys. I suppose growing up in the era of 90s boy bands, that was inevitable. This week, I’d like to share with you all a classic, in the hopes that the sweet vocals and sweeter lyrics of my favorite boy band will melt your heart as well.

PROMPT: [As Long As You Love Me – Backstreet Boys]

Although loneliness has always been a friend of mine
I’m leavin’ my life in your hands
People say I’m crazy and that I am blind
Risking it all in a glance Continue reading “Monday Morning Melts #4”

Monday Morning Melts #3

Rosema: As you probably know, I love Jason Mraz. Well, love is an understatement. ❤ So for my second pick for Monday Morning Melts, it is no doubt a song from my ultimate music beau.

I Won’t Give Up and Lucky are among his biggest ‘sweet’ hits. But to introduce you to a rather unknown but equally heart tickling song, here’s “In Your Hands”. The part I picked are for me the sweetest lines that has ever been written. Especially that “what I choose is you.” Aaaah. I am feeling so in love. 😀 (with Jason. HAHA)

I hope this lovely song will inspire you. ❤

PROMPT: In Your Hands- Jason Mraz

But when you’re alone
You’re living in a world with only choices
And what I choose is you Continue reading “Monday Morning Melts #3”

What Happens Now?

MOCHA

My little boy looked at me and I wondered how a nine-year-old could have galaxies in his eyes.

“Momma,” he whispered and I shushed him, hugging him to my chest. I caressed the soft mocha skin of his cheek.

“It’ll be alright, little one. Nothing will happen to you.” Was that true?

I didn’t know. All I knew was the love I saw in my little boy’s eyes and the lengths I would go to protect it.  Continue reading “What Happens Now?”

Monday Morning Melts #2

Last week, Rosema kicked off Monday Morning Melts with a deeply personal song, and shared with us her heart.

This week, I chose a song to reflect the chaos erupting in my side of the world. When hatred walks around every corner, that is when love will shine the brightest.

PROMPT: Love Me Now – John Legend

I don’t know who’s gonna kiss you when I’m gone
So I’m gonna love you now, like it’s all I have
I know it’ll kill me when it’s over
I don’t wanna think about it, I want you to love me now Continue reading “Monday Morning Melts #2”

Monday Morning Melts #1

Welcome to our first Monday Morning Melts!

The first song-lyrics prompt is from If You’re Not The One by Daniel Bedingfield chosen by the wonderful Rosema. A song will be more than a song when it holds a special meaning to someone’s heart, especially when a song is offered to someone your heart holds dearly.

This song is actually Rosema’s almost six-year relationship’s theme song. And as an ode to her relationship, this is her first song-lyric-prompt. We hope this will inspire you to write something that will melt our hearts. 🙂

PROMPT: If You’re Not The One by Daniel Bedingfield

And I hope you are the one I share my life with
And I wish that you could be the one I die with
And I pray in you’re the one I build my home with
I hope I love you all my life Continue reading “Monday Morning Melts #1”

Invitation To Join: Monday Morning Melts

“Songs are emotions, expressed in such a way that only the soul understands.” ― Unknown

There’s something about the way the lyrics, the instruments, and the memories come together in a song that resonates in each and every one of us. Regardless of whether you prefer soft ballads or upbeat dance tracks, there’s a song for every soul.

Recently, my dear friend Rosemarie and I came up with the idea of Monday Morning Melts, because alliteration is strong with us, and because we realized we have yet to come across a prompt that uses song lyrics.

Like songs, poems, stories, and photos can touch our hearts, move our minds, and linger in our souls. That moment you are stunned with a goofy sweet smile on your face is an inexplicable feeling. Thus, the birth of Monday Morning Melts!   Continue reading “Invitation To Join: Monday Morning Melts”
