Special Guest: Cookie Monster (Aka The Versatile Blogger Award)

Come right in, everyone! We’ve got pizza over there, drinks over there, and enough cookies to satisfy Cookie Monster himself.

Today, we’re celebrating because this blog has one more shiny award to add to its collection! Thank you, Ally, for passing on the Versatile Blogger Award.

You guys know the rules by now, I’m sure—this award asks for seven facts about yourself. I’ve been using the same seven facts for these award posts (which are still true!) but in the spirit of celebration and virtual partying, let’s share some new tidbits, shall we? The Rule of Eleven (aka The Blue Sky Tag)

A shoutout to Tina at Written in Geek for giving my muse and I a break from writing. I can’t even remember when my last tag post was, which goes to show how long it’s been.

Ratatouille

1) What frightens you the most?

As quoted from Sailboats & Bubble Tea (aka the Entertainer Blogger Award): Bugs with more than 4 legs. Bugs with no legs at all. BUGS.

2) Coffee or tea?

I wonder if you guys already know the answer to this. 5 Brownie Points to anyone who does! The answer’s literally one or the other, guys.  Continue reading “The Rule of Eleven (aka The Blue Sky Tag)”

Mandibelle’s Interview With Jade M. Wong

Honored to have been featured on Mandi’s interview series. Mandi is one of the first bloggers I met through WordPress and more than a year later, she remains someone I consider a friend and a talented writer in her own right!

Mandibelle16

Welcome back to my biweekly interview series. I hope you all had an amazing holidayand I would like to start the New Year off right with an interview from the sweet and gifted Jade M. Wong. Her blog is called: Jade M. Wong – Writer At Heart. Fangirl by DNA. Struggling Human Until Further Notice.

1. Jade, Please Tell Us About Yourself?

I’m a New York City girl named Jade M. Wong. In short, I’m a writer in my heart, a fan-girl by DNA, and a struggling human until further notice. I’m often up until 4:00 am at night battling inconvenient words and fantastical stories. If  I were a gazillionaire, I wouldn’t buy a mansion, but a cozy apartment in every city I love. In the meantime, I make do with cozy corners across the internet-sphere.

2. When Did You Start Writing and Blogging and…

The Muse Takes Over (aka The Sunshine Blogger Award)

For ME?

agnes

From one Sunshine Blogger to another, I thank you kindly, Angela Campbell!

Also, apparently, there are questions.

1) What inspired you to initiate blogging?

Muse: *click clacks on my laptop* Writer human! What is this WordPress that other writer humans are frequenting?

Me: It’s a blogging thing. You create a blog, you share writing, you get feedback. Why?

Muse: No reason. Do you prefer Jade Wong or Jade M. Wong?

Me: M. We talked about that, didn’t-

Muse: DONE!

Me: What? What’s done? What did you do?

Muse: First post hmm…oh! A Toast! New year, new poem!

Me: MUSE, OH MY GOD. Continue reading “The Muse Takes Over (aka The Sunshine Blogger Award)”

Superheroes, Cuddly Aliens, & Ghost Rider

There were so many reasons to love September, and I’m giving the spotlight to my inner fangirl for this post so she can gush a little about the reasons why she loved September:

BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE AKA WONDERWOMAN

Okay, so this movie actually came out in March but it took my Batman-fanboy of a friend six months of persistent nagging before I finally succumbed to watching it.

*Cue incoherent hyperventilating fangirl screams AHHHH*

wonderwoman Continue reading “Superheroes, Cuddly Aliens, & Ghost Rider”

Re-Introducing Me

For years, I’ve hidden behind the pseudonym of Jade M. Wong and the profile picture of an anime girl. I’ll still be using the pseudonym, but I’m ready to stop hiding.

To my blogging friends, my readers, and the whole wide world, are you listening? Can you see me? I’m re-introducing myself. Continue reading “Re-Introducing Me”

The Freelance Olympics — As Illustrated By Jack Sjogren

OLYMPICS! Yes, I am slightly kind of very much into the Olympics right now, which has taken up all my evening TV time (thank the TV lords that all my regularly scheduled programming is currently on hiatus).

That’s why this series of comics by cartoonist and illustrator Jack Sjogren caught my attention both as an Olympics fan and aspiring writer, and I wanted to spread the fun & humor.

Maybe now, it’s more appropriate to say Happy Monday? Continue reading “The Freelance Olympics — As Illustrated By Jack Sjogren”

This or That Book Tag

So technically, I wasn’t tagged for this, but technically I was because Quirky Victorian at (Over) Analysing Literature chose to do an open tag on her post.

Works for me!

1) Reading on the couch or On the bed?

donnie-darko

2) Male main character or Female main character?

Although my favorite books have had male protagonists, I definitely prefer female main characters. My only issue with the majority of female characters is that too often, they’re portrayed as vapid and cringe-worthy. I apologize in advance for offending any Twilight fans, but I want more Hermione Grangers and less Bella Swans. Continue reading “This or That Book Tag”

Four Fact Survey

Just when I think I’ve got this lateness thing under control, I blink and it’s been a month since Fernanda over at Mystery Date With A Book tagged me with this survey.

Without further procrastination-

4 NAMES PEOPLE CALL ME OTHER THAN MY REAL NAME

1) Jade (as it is my alter-ego pseudonym)
2) Complete Real Life Name (which I can’t reveal because that defeats the purpose of having an alter-ego pseudonym)
3) Miss! (Because that’s easier for kids to say than, well, anything else)
4) AgentCLASSIFIED.

4 MOVIES I’VE WATCHED MORE THAN ONCE

10 things
1) 10 Things I Hate About You
avengers fury
2) The Avengers

Sailboats & Bubble Tea (aka The Entertainer Blogger Award)

Quirky? Yes

Punctual? HAHAHA.

Slightly insane? …Only slightly?

Entertaining? That’s a new one.

But thanks to this nomination by Bookish Girl in a Boring World, I can now say I’m entertaining and I have an award with a sailboat on it to prove it. Because…sailboats are entertaining?

crowley gif.gif

Onwards to the questions! Because what’s a blogging award without some random questions to go along with it?

The Secret Life of a Blogger

It’s been a millennium and a half since Bookish Girl in a Boring World first tagged me. And then, Life happened.

baymax 1

Better late than never. *Cracks knuckles* *Sips tea* Let’s get started, shall we?

1) How long have you been a blogger?

Well, let’s see, according to my archives…

I’ve been blogging on-and-off since 2012 on prior blogs that have now turned to dust in The Cyberspace Graveyard, but Life has a way of kicking my butt and it’s only this year that I’ve finally been blogging regularly. I’d like to think that Life and I are now more reluctant dance partners than bitter enemies.

2) At what point do you think you will stop?

hp never

3) What is the best thing? Continue reading “The Secret Life of a Blogger”

Turning My Life Into Song

Where has this event been all my blogging life? I’m joining The Great Book of Lists for the first time this week, and this week’s prompt? The Soundtrack of Your Life. Usually, my dance parties are one-woman only, but this week, I’ll make an exception.

1) BETTER THAN I KNOW MYSELF – ADAM LAMBERT

I get kind of dark
Let it go too far
I can be obnoxious at times
But try and see my heart
‘Cause I need you now
So don’t let me down
You’re the only thing in this world
I would die without
