I’ve called Earth home for more than 100 years
The largest of turtles, yet many of us have disappeared,
It’s our Earth Day too.
You love that I’m black, white, Asian, and cuddly,
If you love me, then why are there so little of me?
It’s our Earth Day too.
Beautifully brilliant blues, vibrant oranges and reds,
Bloody feathers of homeless macaws, lying on the ground dead.
It’s our Earth Day too. Continue reading “[Poetry] It’s Our Earth Day Too”
She says she’s not pretty
But if only she knew
The way I bite my lip
When she smiles with hers
The way she teases me
Like a taboo.
She says she’s not pretty
But then her eyes lock on mine
And in them I see
Every reason I need
To know why I lived
All this time.

Is for the child
Sprinting through the crimson streets
Tripping over the last breaths
Of her father
For the mother
Protecting her babies’ ears
From the piercing shrieks that echo
Long after the ashes settle Continue reading “[Poetry] An Elegy For Them”
Al mondo tu sei diabolico, intrigante, e furbo,
Ma a me tu sei angelico, amabile, e incantato.
Ma a me tu sei tutto.
To the world, you are diabolical, scheming, and sly,
But to me you are angelic, lovable, and enchanting.
To the world you are fatal, dangerous, and harmful,
But you are the only person who makes me feel safe.
To the world, you are dishonest and a little liar,
But you always tell me the truth.
To the world you are a rebel,
But to me, you are a leader.
To the world, you are not good enough,
But to me, you are everything.

This is a story of how I lived.
My memories with the people closest to me
They had stories apiece, and through them relived
All those days we spent living so carefree
I don’t know if it was a blessing or a curse
I was able to see people actually miss me
I don’t know why I didn’t move on at first
I lingered awhile, just floating idly,
To this day, I don’t know why I had to die
I didn’t plan it and I don’t know why
One day I upped and left my body behind
This is a story of how I died.

They say people don’t change.
But I’ve learned that sometimes, people do change,
And sometimes, they don’t change back
And sometimes, you have to move on,
Because you can’t spend your life waiting for them to change back,
Sometimes, the only thing you can do
Is pick up the memories you once shared
And make something beautiful out of them.

Another demon, another day
Will evil ever stay away?
Look, another demon’s trying to steal me,
Whee! There I go, flying away.
Surely by now these demons realize
That even if they try a thousand times
I’ll always protect myself from evil
And yet they always seem so surprised. Continue reading “[Poetry] The Book of Shadows”
In a sea of bad thoughts
In a room of smoke
Among inside jokes
Breaking through the clouds
Cleansing through the soul
To put the pieces together
To make me whole.

Let Dreams grow,
For like life,
They flourish with care
And decay with strife.
Fuel them with Hope
You’ll never be lost,
At whatever cost,
For only when
You care with Love
Undying and when
You never give up Continue reading “[Poetry] Let Dreams Grow”
I’m sorry, I lied
All those days that you cried
I’m sorry, I yelled
When you only meant well
I’m sorry, I broke
Years of trust turned to smoke
I’m sorry, I ran
And threw away your hand Continue reading “[Poetry] Confession”
Hidden in a valley beside an open stream – This will be the type of place where you will find your dream.
Folding your wishes behind shooting stars – The key is not wishing, but to start where you are.
It will slip through your fingers like grains of sand – Nothing will ever go the way you planned.
Trust yourself for you do not need a map – Others’ directions will surely lead you to a trap.
Hidden in a valley beside an open stream –This will be the type of place where you will find your dream.

The lion prowled, padded paws whispering on the grass
His mane soft, his claws glinting
No one messes with the king.
The lion kept guard, watching over his domain
From the fields to the edge of the cliffs
He had control over everything.
The lion was proud, always protecting his pride
Always demanding reverence
My heart was nothing more than his plaything.

Like winter’s chilly rain, for you I weep,
To be with you is but an endless wait,
Somehow for you I have fallen so deep,
Your mere presence to me intoxicates.
I make a wish upon a fleeting star,
Eyes closed, I can almost feel your embrace,
Reality between us, a distance so far,
I try to trace the smooth lines of your face.
Like summer’s heat, you burn bright in my eyes,
With a gaze so intense you freeze me cold,
I call out to you but hear no reply,
Arms stretched out, I yearn to hold.
I cannot touch misty wisps of steam,
And you are nothing more than just a dream.
