[Poetry] Special Someone

Dark curls, gray eyes
Always honest, never lies
Crisp jeans, cotton shirts
A gentle touch that never hurts
Sharp mind, cautious heart
A love he’ll never tear apart.

[Flash Fiction] Cotton Candy Clouds

She was camped out under the endless sky, balancing a phone on one shoulder while adding more wood to the fire.

“Dad, I’m fine. As you can see, I haven’t gotten myself kidnapped or killed.” Continue reading “[Flash Fiction] Cotton Candy Clouds”

[Poetry] Ode To The Girl With The Flowery Handwriting

And the lavender scented stationery,
On which you have composed beautiful words,
Dancing to a song so familiar and sweet,
Yet I am sure of it I have never heard.
Tied daintily like a precious treat,
The blue silk ribbon in a little bow,
Do you plan for you and I to ever meet?
Miss Mystery-and-Intrigue that I do not know?
Perhaps, perhaps, oh how you tease me!
As I run my fingers over your stationery,
Tracing the letters you’ve weaved just so,
One day, this secrecy, I will unfold.

[Flash Fiction] The Gates

I didn’t expect to walk into the lobby of a historic museum. Carved into the panels of the domed ceiling were statues of angels, wings unfurled, towering above as if they were guarding the building. A circular desk flanked by golden pillars stood at the center of the room. Sitting at the desk was a beautiful woman smiling serenely at me. Continue reading “[Flash Fiction] The Gates”

[Criminal Minds Fanfic] All I Want

She liked to watch him drive. For starters, he drove a Classic blue Volvo Amazon P130 from the ‘60s, which was definitely not the car she expected a brilliant, socially awkward 24-year-old FBI Behavioral Analyst to drive. Then there was the way his body relaxed when he sat in the driver’s seat, a level of control and comfort he rarely showed elsewhere. When he drove, he wasn’t the eccentric genius with three PhD’s who struggled with understanding people’s emotions. When he drove, he was just a man with warm brown eyes and an endearing boyish smile. [Writer’s Quote Wednesday] Always and Forever, Lara Jean

“Being vulnerable, letting people in, getting hurt…it’s all a part of being in love.”

— Jenny Han, Always and Forever, Lara Jean —

This week, let’s go back to high school for a moment. Imagine you’re 16 again, walking through the hall to your next class, passing That Couple kissing by their lockers, weaving between the cliques and the noise.

[Criminal Minds Fanfic] Did You Know?

Spencer’s hand knocked against mine, again, as we strolled down the glittering street.

“Did you know, in the colonial era, streetlights were lit by candles inside glass vessels? Can you imagine what the colonials would think if they saw the streetlights today?” He pointed above to the row of fluorescent angels that adorned the path. [Flash Fiction] The Perfect Son-In-Law

He fidgeted in his red knit sweater and smoothed down his dark hair. “How do I look? Do I look okay?”

“For the hundredth time, you look like the perfect son-in-law.” She stood on her toes, tugged on the red cotton, forcing him to lean down, and kissed him gently on the cheek. “How are you so tall?” Continue reading “[Flash Fiction] The Perfect Son-In-Law”
